Alta Vista Botanical Gardens invites community members to partner with us in helping maintain and develop our designated garden areas. Help us make our garden shine!

What will the adoptive gardener do?

Select a garden area they are interested in caring for and learning about.

Visit and work in the garden on days and times that fit their schedule.

Make a one year commitment to your garden.

Adoptive Gardners will receive:

One year free Garden Admission to the Garden.

A sign posted in the garden acknowledging the adoptive gardener.

Invitation our annual Volunteer’s appreciation dinner.

Botanical education and maintenance training specific to your chosen garden area.

Adopting a Garden
  • Meet with the Adopt-a-Garden Coordinator to walk the gardens and select an area to adopt.
  • Once a garden has been selected, volunteers are required to sign AVBG Liability Waiver.
  • On you first visit to your adoptive garden to begin work, you will receive information about then plants and how to care for them, including water requirements, pruning techniques, fertilizer and mulching needs. Gardening tools are available.
  • Select the days and times that work best for you, visit the garden area regularly to keep it looking beautiful.
  • Enjoy spending time in this beautiful community garden!
